Responsibilities for IT Support Specialist

· Complete detailed reports listing requests for technical assistance from staff members, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates/individuals involved;

· Act as the initial point of contact for all computer and system related concerns from employees and clients;

· Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage;

· Organize and file documentation pertaining to warranties and instructional guides for computer hardware;

· Maintain a working log detailed all required system updates, as well as the date of completion;

· Attend in-person meetings with employees, third party contractors and clients to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose IT systems-related issues and complete pending tickets;

· Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions;

· Install and configure computer systems and applications within the company;

· Establish and maintain IT and digital communication infrastructure, including wireless or LAN networks;

· Establish and maintain digital communication software, including email, user logins and passwords; this includes setting up new employees with company email accounts and providing them with access to the network, as well as troubleshooting for existing employees;

· Train new staff to operate within the company’s IT systems and ensuring that new staff are aware of company communication policies;

· Make sure that the networks are protected from malware and viruses, identifying areas that might be under threat and areas where security can be improved, keeping up to date on ever-changing cyber-threats;

· Install and maintain firewalls, establishing, and maintaining company-wide access policies to the internet;

· Provide technical support and assistance to employees, clients and third party contractors;

· Perform analysis and collect data to establish the potential for improvements within the communication networks;

· Work with third-party providers to keep the networks running smoothly and efficiently;

· Maintaining the company’s phone system and working closely with the phone service provider to keep the lines active;

Qualifications for IT Support Specialist

· Strong working knowledge and experience of Office 365

· Microsoft office certified will be additional

· Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite

· Software installation, upgrades, and application support for: Microsoft Office 2011, 2013 and office 365 as well as Adobe’s Creative Suite programs--Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Acrobat

· 1-3 years of proven experience in a heavy customer focus position involving and technical knowledge of a companies' products and services

· Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution

· Comfortable working in and assisting others through company help desk software.

· Need experience working with office 365.

· Accept constructive criticism and customer feedback regarding their experience with software or IT services

· Extensive experience working with different operating systems including Windows and others.

· Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently

· Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with customers and clients

· Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications for a large company

· Knowledge of design, configuration, installation, testing, and maintenance of local and wide area computer wired and wireless networks.

· Knowledge of computer network characteristics, network operating system software, and network components

· Troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose/resolve network system problems.

· Ability to interpret and apply complex technical manuals and reference materials.

· Ability to assist with developing network security and related procedures; and assist with performing network management activities.
