Warehouse Assistant Manager [Malaysia]


 

Job Purpose
This strategic role contributes to the continuous success of the business by providing the retail team with seamless stock replenishment and logistics service, whilst maintaining operational excellence in the warehouse. The role has to equip the Distribution Center team with a retail mindset, to upgrade the operational model, and to improve the operational process in delivering the best ever lead-time and quality to the retail team in consistency with our SOPs and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
The role has also to optimize the Distribution Center performance to strive for the most cost-effective way in running the daily operational and to ensure the highest operational efficiency.
Warehouse Management
  • Provide timely analytics and insights to the management in order to facilitate the continuous improvement on the Supply Chain process from the upstream to the downstream of the Supply Chain, as well as the space utilization in the Distribution Center.
  • Manage and lead an effective and cohesive team which can work towards set targets, and to monitor the performance and productivity of the team in achieving the KPIs
  • Effectively plan and execute all resource requirements ensuring that the right people, processes and equipment are in place to meet service levels and that productivity is maintained
  • Maintain high levels of security in the stock handling areas, regular housekeeping and hold responsibility for Health & Safety in the warehouse and related external areas
Process & System Improvement
  • To demonstrate high standard of work practices, continuous improvement and adherence to the standard operation process and procedures (SOP).
  • Proactively work and lead the team to identify improvement opportunities, effectively apply any changes to warehouse processes and design to achieve improvements in operational performance
  • Plan, coordinate and lead any other ad hoc supply chain projects, focusing on information technology, automation, e-commerce and omni-channels.
People Management:
  • Motivating and encouraging teamwork within the workforce and provide proper coaching and focus staff development for the team.
  • Be proactive in approach to trouble shooting, problem solving and decision making during the daily distribution center operations.
Leadership:
  • Promote the highest standards of inter and intra team communication, and to deliver operational and customer service excellence within own team and cross functionally.
  • Regularly report to the Distribution Centre Manager on key operational updates.
  • Promote a spirit of integrity and accuracy in the Distribution Center.
Facilities Maintenance
  • Objective: To maintain a safe, secure and clean working environment through
  • Maintaining a good housekeeping of warehouse and equipment as well as zero accident rates
  • Assist in implementing safety standards for warehousing and distribution in respect of storage, packing, handling and protection of goods
  • Continuously instill and implement good housekeeping, safety and security policies and procedures
Others:
  • To report and follow up with IT support regarding any issues (AX/WMS) related to supply chain
  • Reconciliation of returns from POS, with communication between Logistic and FA/FBP team
  • Request and coordinate with Logistics for inbound and outbound shipment from Schenker’s warehouse
  • Manage communications between business units and Logistics, providing solutions as and when needed to fulfill needs
Incumbent Specifications:
  • University graduate (Degree in Supply Chain or a related field preferred)
  • With 5 years of warehouse / logistic experience in related field, including 2 years of managerial role.
  • Preferably functional knowledge and experience in Luxury Retail Supply Chain
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel (Spreadsheets), Outlook and ERP.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Must be a self-starter, work independently, punctual, detail oriented, well organized and the ability to multitask with strong work ethics
  • Able to work independently and within set timelines
  • Able to prioritize work to ensure highest level of efficiency
