About the role
As our Senior Finance Officer, you will be part of a European Finance & Accounting team responsible for accounting and financial reporting of Trustly's various companies around Europe (excluding the Nordics, which is handled by another team). The accounting team at Trustly consists of 10 people who are divided into different teams where they handle the Nordics, Europe and group accounting.

In the role, you are responsible for general accounting for a number of Trustly's European companies and perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing in collaboration with Accounting Manager Europe and Group Accounting Manager. In the daily work, you have close cooperation with the rest of the accounting team and also contact with additional internal stakeholders, as well as external consultants regarding, for example, VAT and taxes.What you'll do
- Accounting according to local GAAP
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Management of fixed asset ledger, depreciation and amortization
- Management of inter-company invoices
- Expense report management
- Monthly balance and profit/loss accounts reconciliations
- Results analysis on a monthly basis
- Involved in preparing annual financial reports
- Involved in the development, streamlining and automation of work processes
- You will manage and oversee Trustly Luxembourg’s financial activities, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting to the local authorities
- You will oversee and control outsourced finance activities
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Manage and oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and collections
- Manage and oversee the payroll function, including processing payroll and ensuring compliance with local payroll regulations
- Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements
- General ad-hoc tasks
